Black Smithereens Small earrings are inspired by the sharp beauty of shattered mirror shards. Handcrafted from black porcelain, each earring features a unique, organically broken shape — no two are exactly alike. The flat front is finished with hand-applied luster, available in three finishes: gold luster creates a warm, striking mirror-like reflection against the dark surface; platinum luster offers a cool, sleek shimmer; and mother of pearl luster brings an iridescent, colour-shifting quality that plays beautifully against the deep black porcelain. The sides are left natural and unglazed.

Delicate yet sculptural, these one-of-a-kind studs offer a minimalist form with bold detail. Lightweight and comfortable, they are ideal for daily wear or special occasions.

Ceramic lusters are metallic or iridescent coatings applied to already-fired, glazed ceramics to create a shiny, reflective, or pearlescent surface effect. They are essentially very thin layers of metal dissolved in a liquid medium. Gold and platinum lusters give a crisp, opaque metallic finish. Mother of pearl luster is translucent and prismatic — it shifts with the light rather than reflecting it sharply.
